The Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police has a new response truck to deploy teams to natural disasters.

The truck, trailer and equipment will allow meal preparation for first responders at the scene and ensure adequate access to food, water and other support, WBKO-TV in Bowling Green reported. The truck was unveiled last week in Lexington.

The truck was paid for with a $125,000 donation from Burning Barrel Skill Games, powered by Pace-O-Matic. Pace-O-Matic and Burning Barrel, its Kentucky distributor, have donated to charities such as volunteer fire departments, the American Legion, churches and other nonprofits, including disaster relief, since launching operations just over a year ago, the station said.

Former University of Kentucky and NFL player Tim Couch also attended the unveiling. His philanthropic efforts have focused on disaster relief response.

“Communities and businesses coming together to make meaningful impact is how we can really make a difference,” Couch said.

Kentucky has seen its share of natural disasters in the last 12 months, including tornadoes in the southwest and flooding in the east.
