On Equal Pay Day, Caroline Feeney, head of Prudential Financial’s Individual Solutions Group, speaks about the financial challenges facing women.
Caroline Feeney, head of Prudential Financial’s Individual Solutions Group, talks with Ellevate CEO Kristy Wallace for an important conversation on Equal Pay Day in this week’s Ellevate Podcast: Conversations with Women Changing the Face of Business.
Women are the economic engines of more than half of U.S. households—yet, despite improving trends, women still lag in earnings, making roughly 80 cents for each dollar men make doing the same work, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. That affects women’s ability to put money aside for retirement and leaves them at risk of outliving their hard-won savings.
Feeney dives into the biggest financial challenges facing women and why it’s so crucial for women to start making a habit of talking openly about finances. She also talks about her career journey and how her leadership style evolved as she progressed and changed positions throughout her career, along with opportunities for women to become financial advisors.
Prudential joined the Ellevate Network as a corporate partner in 2017 and this week’s podcast is the first of several events the company is sponsoring this year, including Ellevate’s 2019 Mobilize Women Summit, along with multiple workshops and webinars focused on helping women understand how they can overcome unique financial challenges to meet their financial goals and secure guaranteed retirement income.
