Next Insurance Names Rhodes as First Chief Insurance Officer

Next Insurance has announced the appointment of Chris Rhodes as the company’s first chief insurance officer.

Rhodes has 20 years of property and casualty insurance experience, including senior leadership roles at Farmers Insurance and MetLife.

In his new role at the Paulo Alto, California-based company, Rhodes will focus on the insurance function to support product development, elevate the claims automation experience and help connect profit management and loss analytics actions to ensure price adequacy.

CRC Group Appoints Allred President ,Clancy Chief Underwriting Officer of Tapco Underwriters, Inc.

CRC Group has appointed Keith Allred as president of Tapco Underwriters, Inc., and Virginia Clancy as chief underwriting officer, effective Jan. 1, 2023. Allred succeeds Bill Pinson, long-time Tapco president who passed away in June 2022.

Allred has more than 30 years of experience in the E&S insurance space, including over two decades of senior leadership experience as vice president of Tapco Underwriters, Inc. He will continue to work from the Burlington, North Carolina, location.

Clancy is also a 30-year employee. She opened the Clearwater, Florida, office for Tapco in 1994 and has since led the Florida region. She was the first assistant vice president and was then promoted to vice president in 2000. Clancy will continue to lead the Florida region while taking on additional duties and working closely with domestic carriers and London.

Distinguished Lands New Fine Art and Collectibles Team

Distinguished Programs, a national insurance program manager, has announced the first step in its planned expansion with a new fine art and collectibles program led by Patrick Drummond. Drummond is an industry veteran with 25 years of experience, 15 of which focused on the specialty insurance market. Drummond brings with him a team of the top Fine Art underwriters and claims experts in North America.

The program will cover commercial clients, such as museums, art dealers, corporate collections and artists, and private clients, such as art collections, wine collections, stamps and coins, rare books, comics and sports memorabilia and more. Distinguished Programs is headquartered in New York, New York.
